| there are two categories of dress for girls here: fob or skank.
which should i choose? i fit the fob category easily. there's the decision.
girls also tend to buy shoes that dont fit them; i can tell because they walk funny. i guess they would also walk funny if theyre skanks. ah ha! <snare, cymbal>
p.s. check out this dessert we had. it's a giant hunk of bread, toasted, covered in caramel sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. sweetness overload.

p.p.s. the bus ride from town to my host family's host costs $3. each way. thats stupid. im riding a bicycle.
| i think i'm tired to the point where i cant fall asleep. im sighing out of tiredness. today's schedule was: - woke up at 6 to get ready, got some breakfast, went to haneda airport - got a flight around 10 to komatsu airport - had lunch with folks from the prefectural international exchange program - met with the governor of the prefecture, where i had to pretend to listen intently, like this:
that's mike to the left of me. he really is listening intently. - toured the prefectural public building - met with our homestay families - had dinner with the homestay family it is now only 10pm but i am ridiculously out of it. holy bejeezus.
| getting everything packed up and ready to go to kanazawa for a 5-week homestay/language immersion. i think it's kind of in the boonies, but we'll see. living with the host family is going to be a bit awkward, i think. but i'll report on that later. things to note: - my soon-to-be apartment is on the 16th floor of a 29 floor building. i hate heights. - i had deep fried fugu. next step: raw fugu - everyone is so friggin nice, it sickens me. - not really, but everyone IS nice - IT IS HOT HERE. | | |
